A slat roof pergola can generally be used in winter, but there are a few points to bear in mind. In frosty weather, the louvers should be opened slightly to prevent the mechanism from freezing. In the event of snowfall, it is advisable to open the louvers completely so that the snow can slide off more easily.

Also ensure that the maximum snow load is not exceeded and remove accumulated snow regularly. Systems with automatic control should be switched to manual operation to avoid uncontrolled movements in frosty conditions. Icy louvers may only be operated after the ice has been completely removed.
