CE conformity at STOBAG

Many people are familiar with the CE sign. It is seen everywhere, from toys to electrical appliances. The CE sign is not a sign of quality, conformity with a standard or certification which can be given or taken away, rather it is a declaration by the manufacturer that the provisions of the law, meaning all the EU directives which apply to the product, have been complied with during its manufacture. Formerly, manufacturers had to carry out tests specific to each country in which their products were to be sold in order to comply with the relevant national requirements. Today, the manufacturer has to submit the evidence necessary to be granted the CE sign only once, assuming that the relevant European standard applies in the country concerned. The STOBAG brand is recognised for its Swiss quality, so all of the awnings we produce carry the CE sign. If they are correctly installed, our awnings qualify for wind resistance class 2.
