Ernst Gremaud founded the company in an old cellar in Gattikon near Zürich.

1966
Start of serial production of die-cast components using homemade foundry furnace

from 1968
Production has been constantly expanded at new sites. Export to neighbouring countries is started.

1982
Management of the company transferred to next generation in Gianni Gremaud.

1988
STOBAG's exclusively developed telescopic gas pressure technology is patented. The first production facility was built in Muri in the canton of Aargau. The site has been continually expanded.

1988 – 2007
Production sites established in western Switzerland, Italy, Austria and Spain.

2000 – 2005
Additional office and showroom space as well as storage and production facilities are built on the Muri site.

2006
STOBAG launch the most state-of-the-art awnings production in Europe with fully -automatic high rack warehouse facility.

2010
STOBAG is official sponsor of the FIS World Ski Championship. This presents the brand to a million-strong audience for the first time.
